Taking place for the 4th time on 15th and 16th of November in Dusseldorf, the MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE will once again be the lighthouse event at MEDICA 2016. With over 130,000 attendees and 4,950 exhibitors, MEDICA is the largest medical tradeshow in the world providing a great premise for sharing the latest innovations and approaches in sports medicine. The 4th MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE will bring together internationally renowned sports medicine experts, visionaries and industry professionals for intersectoral dialogue, and provides an established networking platform for discussions and development of innovative approaches in prevention, regeneration and rehabilitation.

The conference program is packed with leading sports medicine experts from all over the globe. Among others, the below mentioned experts will dive into various topics in five insightful sessions during the two-day conference. “The Future of Sports Medicine”, being the theme for the first day, will open the discussion to the infinite possibilities of the future.  Predictive medicine, sports medicine roadmap 2030, 360 monitoring, augmented activity, robotics and the electronic athlete record are among the topics discussed.

Day 2 will focus on theRHT_Au_enansicht_klein new findings of training programs, human performance and exercise assessment. In addition, measuring vital data and physical parameters, as well as taking a look into the emotional and cognitive elements of sports medicine are a part of the agenda.

The first day of the conference will also include the Guided Innovation Tour to the trade show area of MEDICA and the get-together at the WT Wearable Technologies Show. Conference attendees can test the latest tech and network.

The conference will also include an innovation wildfire with a session in digital innovations in recreational and elite sports, showcasing wearable technologies, beat analytics as well as measuring and training cognitive and emotional parameters.

Goals of pre-participation examination (PPE) in athletes are primarily to protect health of athletes. This applies for children, adolescents, leisure time and top athletes.To recognise early possible risks, history and clinical examination is agreed to be the basis of PPE. However, there is a long-standing controversy about whether ECG at rest should also be mandatory for all athletes. ECG is rejected in the US but included in most European countries.
